Lawntopia 2025:

Featuring Don Toliver, Odd Mob, and Umi

Brainfreeze is the annual spring quarter concert thrown by Associated Students of UC Davis Entertainment Council, this year being held inside the University Credit Union Center. For 2025, EC recruited a diverse lineup of artists with Umi as opener, Odd Mob as direct support, and Don Toliver as headliner.

Techniques:  Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
Design Directors: Kat Cho, Britney Sun
Design Coordinators: Katie Castro, Kim Luong

Ideating

We created a moodboard of images and design concepts that inspired our process. Our focus was creating a story and world for the event to exist within, and we mainly ideated around the tagline “All roads lead to Lawntopia”, which heavily informed our process. We went with a darker color scheme with more intense visuals and a focus on road and travel imagery.

Design System

The colors take on a dark but lively aesthetic, with the main color being black with red accents, as well as white and yellow details.
We used a road sign for the main logo to tie into our tagline. We also used some visual assets such as pixels and location mapping visuals.

Event Posters

For the reveal of our event artists, we created photo and text posters, as well as a text banner which was unveiled at a physical reveal on campus.

Artist Posters

We also created artist specific posters for each performing artist.

Event Overview

Overall this event was by far the most involved I’ve been in the EC event process, but was also the most rewarding. I learned so much about not only event design but also working in a team and communication. It was so incredibly amazing to see thousands of people come out for something my team and I had worked so hard on, and I had such an amazing time putting this all together with the most amazing team ever!
